Matt Manire

In short, I am a Canadian born American who has lived in Russia and Australia. I grew up in a family of missionaries, that has taken me across the globe. From a young age, I started to gain an interest in photography, a curiosity quickly turned into a passion. My love for photography soon morphed into a love for film making!

My Photography

Photography has always been a huge passion of mine. Ever since I was little, I remember having some kind of camera in my hand. My mother was a photographer by trade. She always had an old TLR sitting on a shelf. The moment I was tall enough to grab it, I could not keep it out of my hands! Ever since then, I have been enamored by the character and history behind old cameras. I have a working collection of 35mm, 120mm and large format cameras that I use to document life around me and tell the story of what I see. Here are some examples of this, predominantly captured on various 35mm and 120mm SLR's, TLR's and Rangefinders.

 P2C Films

P2C Films is the in house filming studio for Power to Change, a Christian non profit organization dedicated to changing the lives of those around the world for the better. I have been working with P2C Films from September of 2019 to this day, working primarily as a Camera Operator, Editor and Teleprompter Operator, but have served also in just about every aspect of film making.

Theo’s Feast, is a ministry of Power to Change that involves telling the story of Jesus through a high quality multi-course meal. While I was working with Power to Change, we helped film a mini series that teaches how to successfully run an event

"Run the North is a documentary film that brings the Polar Bear Marathon to the screen... an extreme marathon which takes place in the 'Polar Bear Capital of the World'. Each year, the run brings together a unique collection of adventurers, each with fascinating stories to tell..."

Coming from a background in photography, I always have a camera of some sort on me! 90% of the time, I am shooting with an old film camera, but here are some photos from P2C Films shot on my seldom seen digital camera!

Film Production School

I completed my Film Production School with YWAM Perth in Australia. During this time, we learned the ins and outs of pre-production, production and post-production phases of filmmaking. During my time with YWAM Perth, I was able to work on 15 short films and around five interviews.
